Miss Maria has danced since the age of 2 and a half. The story goes… that she wasn't quite ready for the dance environment and her Mum refused to take her after disruptive behaviour. After feeling left out that her friends were still going every week, she re-joined with good behaviour sealing a life long love for dance and performing.
Maria's initial training was at Bojangles Dance in Lichfield, Staffordshire. She trained there until the age of 19 leaving with her Advanced 2 ISTD in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap, Advanced 1 RAD and her ISTD Imperial Ballet and Modern Theatre (teaching) Associates.
Her further training includes: London Studio Centre where she completed a First Class BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance specialising in Contemporary and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland leaving with an MA in Musical Theatre Performance.
As a performer her credits include: Minerva and Ensemble, Out Of This World, (All Star Productions); Mausi, Lulu and Helga, Cabaret das Musical (Deutches Theater Munich, Staatsoper Hannover, Bar Jeder Vernuft & Tipi Berlin); Ensemble/Understudy Jane, Salad Days(Riverside Studios); Jenny, Company (Edinburgh Fringe); Botox Active Virgin (Edinburgh Fringe); Dancer, Le Grande Cirque (UK Tour); Dance Captain, Aladdin (Lichfield Garrick); Nurse, Die Unmoglichen; Dancer, Scuffle (Film); Singer, Stage Fright (Shepperton Studios); Maria regularly performs with all singing, all dancing and all tapping My Favourite Things and can also be seen performing with E-Motion Dance Company.

She has taught intermittently throughout her contracts for many different schools and companies and continues to do so. After being given her first Pre-Primary ballet class at age 16, she has now been teaching for others for 15 years and decided it was about time she ran her own school… and so, WhizzDance was born.
Maria has was on the recent panel for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s London auditions for their BA (Hons) and MA Musical Theatre Performance courses.
Maria is currently in the process of updating her Associate teaching qualification with the ISTD to the new DDE status. She regularly attends courses at the ISTD HQ in London to keep her up to date with delivering syllabus work. She has also recently attended and completed the new Progressing Ballet Technique programme.
She is very proud of what her WhizzDancers have achieved so far and how hard they work in every class. She loves teaching them and looks forward to meeting and working with all of the future WhizzDancers too!
