Miss Maria

Miss Maria, WhizzDirector

Miss Maria’s initial training was at Bojangles Dance in Lichfield, Staffordshire. She trained there until the age of 19 leaving with her Advanced 2 ISTD in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap, Advanced 1 RAD and her ISTD Imperial Ballet and Modern Theatre (teaching) Associate qualifications. In 2018 she completed updating her teaching status to the new Diploma in Dance Education with the ISTD. Her further training includes: London Studio Centre where she completed a First Class BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance specialising in Contemporary and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland leaving with an MA in Musical Theatre Performance under the Cameron Mackintosh Scholarship.

As a performer her credits include: Minerva and Ensemble, Out Of This World, (All Star Productions); Mausi, Lulu and Helga, Cabaret das Musical (Deutches Theater Munich, Staatsoper Hannover, Bar Jeder Vernuft & Tipi Berlin); Ensemble/Understudy Jane, Salad Days (Riverside Studios); Jenny, Company (Edinburgh Fringe); Botox Active Virgin (Edinburgh Fringe); Dancer, Le Grande Cirque (UK Tour); Dance Captain, Aladdin (Lichfield Garrick); Nurse, Die Unmoglichen; Dancer, Scuffle (Film); Singer, Stage Fright (Shepperton Studios); at various corporate events and shows with E-Motion Dance Company and until the arrival of her son, Maria performed regularly with all singing, all dancing and all tapping My Favourite Things.

Maria has taught at countless schools in London, the Midlands and Glasgow. Before moving out of London, she regularly covered Matt Mattox Jazz Technique at Vocational Dance College, London Studio Centre and was on the annual dance panel for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s London BA Honours and MA Honours Musical Theatre Performance Course auditions. 

It is with her vision and ethos that has led WhizzDance to its success as a dance school, not only in quality of delivery but also in business winning Small Business of the Year at the InStreatham BID awards 2022. She now predominantly teaches at WhizzDance HQ Streatham with her focus on running WhizzDance alongside being Mum to her two boys. Miss Maria is an incredibly passionate WhizzPrincipal and dedicated to all at WhizzDance. 

Miss Maria is a dance technician at heart, sharing her knowledge with her classes in an engaging and light hearted delivery style, maintaining classical and professional etiquette, keeping learning progressive and challenging. Miss Maria has inspired many WhizzDancers of all ages over the years by her love of dance.

Miss Beth began dancing at the age of 4 at Corraine Collins Dance Studios in Cheltenham. Whilst training there she competed in many festivals and competitions up and down the country, including the ISTD Ballet Awards and The Janet Cram Award in Modern Dance. At the age of 16 Beth flew the nest and moved to London to undertake her vocational training at Bird College of Dance and Musical Theatre, on a full scholarship.

After graduating she became an apprentice dancer for the New English Contemporary Ballet Company based in Nottingham. Beth has danced all over the world on various cruise ships and has been dance captain for a number of seasons. Beth has completed her Diploma in Dance Instruction in both Imperial Ballet and Tap with the ISTD. 

Miss Beth has been with WhizzDance from early days and now has her own branch of WhizzDance over in Bromley where she acts as WhizzPrincipal. Beth also is greatly involved in our after school club offering at WhizzDance looking after our WhizzClubs in Cheltenham. She also runs her own preschool programme, BDance in Bromley that feeds into our WhizzBromley branch. Miss Beth is well loved by our WhizzDancers old and new.

Luke

Mr Luke trained at Doreen Bird College graduating with a BA(Hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

Luke has performed in various shows since graduating. Chicago (International Tour), Around the World in 80 days as Dance Captain (Union Theatre), Jack and The Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Cinderella, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, (Norwich Theatre Royal), Where he has undertaken the role of Dance Captain and Swing. West End Brunch (Studio 88).

Luke has been teaching Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and Street dance for the last 8 years. Luke works in many schools delivering dance and drama workshops and supporting students with additional needs. Luke has qualifications in Understanding Children and Young Peoples Mental Health and Understanding Behaviours that Challenge.

Luke has been with WhizzDance now for several years. He is a passionate performer and a vibrant, engaging teacher. Luke is always very popular with all his groups at WhizzDance. Luke is our WhizzTeam mentor for all things Primary Schools, sharing his depth of knowledge and strengthening our delivery within schools.

Miss Lucy P

Lucy  graduated in 2024 from the Royal Academy of Dance gaining her BA (Hons) Ballet Education degree course. Lucy has been dancing since the age of 4 training in ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre at her local dance school in Dorset and even appeared in a few Pantos. Before joining WhizzDance, Lucy has experience teaching for her dance school back at home and covering at schools in London. Lucy mainly teaches at WhizzDance during the week.

Miss Lucy has a huge passion for sharing her love of dancing with others. She is a popular WhizzTeacher at WhizzDance teaching many classes throughout the week from our youngest to oldest WhizzDancers! Miss Lucy is also in charge of looking after uniform orders and also supports Miss Maria with other administrative tasks.

Miss Lucy G

Lucy  has recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance studying on the BA (Hons) Ballet Education degree course. Lucy has been dancing since the age of 4 training in ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre at her local dance school in Dorset and even appeared in a few Pantos. Before joining WhizzDance, Lucy has experience teaching for her dance school back at home and covering at schools in London.

Miss Lucy has a huge passion for sharing her love of dancing with others. She is a popular WhizzTeacher at WhizzDance teaching many classes throughout the week from our youngest to oldest WhizzDancers!

Miss Clodagh

WhizzTeacher HQ

Clodagh is a dancer, singer and performer from Kilkenny, Ireland. She is currently in her first year at Laine Theatre Arts and previously trained with Kilkenny Academy of Dance. Alongside her performance studies, she is also working towards her DDE teaching qualification, which she is due to complete in the summer.

Clodagh has trained in a wide range of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, modern and contemporary, and has competed as an independent entry in numerous dance competitions across Ireland. Her achievements include winning the All Ireland Champ of Champs 2025 and the title of Universal Dance Champion, which awarded her a fully funded trip to New York City to train at Broadway Dance Center.

Over the summer, Clodagh produced, directed, choreographed and starred in her own concert, Independent, at the Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny. The performance celebrated her journey and achievements before beginning her training at Laine Theatre Arts in September.

Miss Clodagh is very excited to inspiring our WhizzDancers this year and brings wonderful energy, warmth and enthusiasm to every class.

Edie

Edie trained at Rare Studio, where she began to seriously pursue dance as a career, especially after starting performing arts college at 16. After completing her BTEC at Rare, she was awarded a place at one of Europe’s top dance schools, Copenhagen Dance Education. She then continued her training for a year across Denmark and London, developing her skills in a wide range of dance styles.

Since then, Edie has performed in a number of exciting professional projects, including the Dubai World Cup Opening Ceremony, In the Heights at Liverpool Empire, and the Lord Mayor’s Gala.

Edie delivers our WhizzClubs at Hatcham Primary School. While performing on world tours is one of her long-term goals, being able to share her passion for dance with others is just as important to her. She is an inspiring teacher and a great role model for young dancers, bringing dedication, warmth and encouragement to every class.

Miss Lucie

Miss Lucie started dancing at the age of three and hasn’t stopped since. Her journey began at the Joyce Butler School of Dance, where she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, Classical Greek, national dance and more. At 16, she continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Dance, where she spent two years deepening her knowledge and love of dance. She then moved to South East London to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. After three years, and following knee surgery, she graduated with First Class Honours in BA Contemporary Dance.

Since completing her studies, Miss Lucie has been passionate about sharing her love of dance with others. Teaching across WhizzDance HQ, our primary school clubs and classes across London, she brings warmth, care and infectious enthusiasm to every session. She is a very thoughtful teacher who takes great care with her students, helping each child feel supported and included. She is especially loved in our clubs and by our little ones, who respond so well to her kind, nurturing approach.

Whether she is dancing with tiny tots, adults, or anyone in between, Miss Lucie knows how to bring energy and a real love of movement into the room. She is currently working towards her LRAD qualification, continuing to grow as both a dancer and teacher. Miss Lucie is a wonderful role model for our students, inspiring them with her resilience, dedication and genuine passion for dance.

Sydney

Sydney is a BA (Hons) graduate from the University of East London, where she studied Dance: Urban Practice. She has trained in a wide range of styles including hip hop, ballet, contemporary and capoeira, and has impressively competed and placed in many UDO, BDO, Soar and UKSDC competitions across the country. Sydney has also performed at major events such as Move It and Jump.

Sydney is passionate about passing on her knowledge to younger generations, with a particular interest in working within community outreach programmes wherever she can. She brings confidence, style and brilliant energy to her teaching, making her a fantastic influence on young dancers. Sydney has a way of making students feel inspired, motivated and excited to learn, and her vibrant energy and strong presence make her a real favourite with students.

Miss Courtney

BA (Hons)

Courtney MacDonald’s training includes the Laine Theatre Arts Junior Department, The BRIT School, and the Laine Theatre Arts Foundation, Diploma and Degree courses. During her time at Laine, she worked as a dancer on the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man and as an understudy for a touring pantomime company.

Since graduating, Courtney has worked as Adam Maclean’s assistant choreographer for a performance event and has also taught in Epsom and Putney. Courtney brings strong professional training, valuable industry experience and a thoughtful approach to her teaching, making her a brilliant role model for young dancers and a fantastic member of the WhizzDance team.

Miss Trinity

Trinity Maguire-Toombs is a London-based freelance dance artist and facilitator working across the UK. Raised in rural South West England, Trinity trained from an early age in ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and jazz, alongside piano, developing a deep-rooted passion for the performing arts.

She graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where her interest in theatre led her to complete the JV2 Professional Development Programme with Jasmin Vardimon Company. It was during this time that Trinity discovered her love for teaching, later joining Jasmin Vardimon Company as a facilitator on their holiday courses.

Now based in London, Trinity delivers a range of performing arts, dance, fitness and holistic classes for both children and adults. As a performer, she has worked across stage, site-specific and screen projects, including work featuring choreography by the Matsena Brothers and the Adidas x Oasis commercial.

Trinity is a lovely teacher who brings warmth, care and creativity to her work. She has a calm and encouraging presence, making her a wonderful influence on students and a valued member of the WhizzDance team.
